YaBuLi, HeiLongJiang - The Changbai Mountains (长白山 - long or perpetual white mountain) are a major mountain range in Northeast Asia that extends from the Northeast Chinese provinces of Heilongjiang, Jilin and Liaoning, across the China-North Korea border to the North Korean provinces of Ryanggang and Chagang. Most of its peaks exceed 2,000 m, with the tallest summit being Paektu Mountain at 2,744. Paektu contains the highest volcanic crater lake in the world ( 天池),; and it seems all beautiful lakes in China are named "Heaven Lake" (tg6)

WanLong, ChongLi, HeBei - Brian, Valorie and me --- This was a skiing holiday. Say what you want about the spring snow – we skied 14 full days in 15 days. Never waited in any lines. Spent only one day not skiing for the train from HeiLongJiang (black dragon river) to He Bei (north of the yellow river); home of the Peking Man 500,000 years ago. Mr. Peking probably skied too. And had a morning starting at 4am in Beijing before our flight home tg6)
