Mwnt was the site of an unsuccessful invasion by Flemings in 1155, and its defeat was long afterwards celebrated on the first Sunday in January as "Sul Coch y Mwnt". The name (Red Sunday) was given in consequence of the blood shed on that day.
The Church is an example of a medieval sailor's chapel. The site is said to have been used since the Age of the Saints, but the present building is 14th century.
The dolmen at Pentre Ifan in Nevern, Pembrokshire dates from 3,500 B.C. and was used as a communal burial. The capstone is 5.1 m in length, weighs 16 tones, and rises 2.4 m above the ground - indicating cave men in Wales understood team work.

Getting off the mine train inside the Blaenau Ffestiniog slate mine. The mine includes 25 miles of tunnels connecting 250 caverns arranged in 15 levels.
On holiday — Valorie shops; Daisy cooks; Brian is a train; I drive.
These big coal burning engines are surprisingly fast. We chased and raced them all over Wales, catching this in Llangollen.
