April 2013 - ShiTou Cun (Rock Village)
The BuYi minority in China are the native Tai peoples of the plains of Guizhou. They are one of the oldest peoples of China, living in the area for more than 2,000 years. Daisy's mom is BuYi.
This year we noticed a big change in rural China. For the first time many farmers are using rototillers instead of water buffalo. Also, we often walk in the BuYi village areas near Daisy's parent's house and play with the kids in the river but now there is one super highway bridging across the valley, another being built, a water project that cemented-in the swiming hole, a lot of new house construction, and even some high-rises built.
Change is natual, none the less, I took these photos simply because it does not feel natural to me.
